Hi,

First post here as I've only discovered the place. I started DLing BWOC a couple of weeks back and I'll soon have all the episodes (hopefully). I'd like to watch them in the correct order. Production order, if possible. Does a list exist anywhere?

I can't find one anywhere. Does one exist?

From comments about problems with the makeup I gather that Fangs For The Memories and The Exor-Sis were the first two episodes made after the pilot.

Thanks for any help.

That's airdate order, not production order. That's the exact same list that I can find at 100 other sites.

Thanks all the same, for the fast reply, but that's not what I'm looking for.

There is no production order you ass. It doesn't matter because there were only two episodes in the entire run of the series that were connected to each other.

Don't be a twatwaffle to people who try to help you.

Wow. Nice group you guys got going here.

All I did was (1) ask if there was a production order list. It's possible to get production order lists for lots of TV shows and - thus - watch them in correct order.

Next (2) I thanked the person who replied to me, and pointed out that the information provided wasn't what I had asked about.

So, for these two things (asking and thanking) I get called names and insulted.

LOL

Wow. Really nice friendly little group you got going here

Thrilling. But you won't find a production order because there isn't a list.

Perhaps you should have lurked more and read posts to get a feel for what this place is like.

You mean a forum of unfriendly, unhelpful, obnoxious people?

You are right. I should have lurked.

Never mind. I've done some reading. I know now and I won't trouble you again.

Sincere Congratulations on what you've achieved here. You must be very proud.

It is actually an interesting question, and to be fair Riker did mention production order in his/her post.

I would be interested in knowing filming/production order simply for purposes of examining character/relationship-continuity and use of foreshadowing.

However, Riker, you said production order "if possible" and your reply does come off as a little snippy on the first read-through. The "that's the exact same thing I could have found on hundreds of other sites" at the beginning drowns out the "thank you" at the end.

There isn't a list of production order, but the order can be guessed through context in the episodes. I know The Exor-sis and Fangs for the Memories were supposed to be earlier on since the werewolf makeup was different. Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow was probably earlier in the season too, because I think he's trying to get with Stacey and she's supposed to be dating Eric McIntyre at this point. In season two, Clip Show: Kiss of Death should have been earlier, with the obvious Merton not being set in stone thing...The episode could be placed anywhere though, but probably should be put near the end since it's a clip show and everything.

Also Scary Terri should be before Hair Today Gone Tommorow beacuse Becky talks about it being her first dance.

But yeah, an exact order would be nice. Ah well. Those are the breaks.

I'd bet production order was pretty close for the last two seasons, although things were drastically shuffled around in the first season. Fox Family wanted to air the 'stronger' episodes first, which is strange to me because I thought the first season was pretty consistent across the board. "Invisible Merton" is the only episode I think is dramatically better than any other ep, and I don't consider anything there to be a clunker.

I'd add Time and Again and Don't Fear The Reaper to the list. I do agree that season one was fairly consistant in quality. Also IMHO The Bookmobile is a little silly to be a "strong" episode and would make more sense a few episodes later since Tommy talks about having "experiance" being a hero, which he wouldn't yet.

i agree with gothic fanatsy club on the bookmobile thing it was kinda stale however id did if unintentionally forshadow season three eposode 14 the boy who tried wolf.
oh and another thing that was defently out of sorts was season 2s first eposiode hello nasty in it merton scoffs tommy for seeing a ghoast and says they dont exist when he clearly had an experiance in season 1 in the pleasentville stranger where he was posessed

Yeah, the continuity is a little weird there, but it was definitely made after The Pleasantville Strangler since they're in different seasons. There's some continuity errors.

Can't believe someone else has a Riker avatar.

FYI I don't think anyone else is looking for a production order.

FYI you were told the first time, there is no production order. You want an official one? Contact the people who produced the show and put your own list together.

As far as I can tell, the air dates are in pretty much the same order they were filmed in. Because they often reffer to things that happened in other episodes. Or there will be an item that Merton had taken from an 'event' (or 'adventure' whatever you want to call it) that will suddenly appear in his lair (sometimes other places, like his locker?)

So just remember look at the objects in the Lair, and keep track of what appeared and when. Thats what I do if I think they're in the wrong order or something. But like I said at the begining of this post, they were aired in pretty much the correct order, give or take an episode or two - well, seasons 2 and 3 anyway. Just do the same for season 1, and pay attention to the makeup too, it slowly gets better.

For seasons two and three, yeah, and that may hold true for Canada too, but I remember Peter Knight saying that season one was heavily reshuffled in the U.S. Fox Family had their own ideas about which episodes were strongest, and they wanted to push those to the front.

Ah. I see. In the UK there were only two or three episodes in the wrong order. The rest were correct

Without notes, wouldn't have the memory to name it all. But the most vivid moments that come to mind would be....

(spoilers, obviously)

- Merton's 9th grade friend. She developes a crush on him in one episode, to then dealing with just being friends near the episode's end. We then see her in 2 more episodes throughout season 1, that would clearly show that "yes, that event did happen."

- T.N.T's Wolfman encounters. I'm almost positive that during there epic tag-team battle against Wolfie and The Swamp Creature, they mention "round 3", as in, they've encountered The Wolf Man 2 times prior. Pretty sure that info is correct. Then another moment in another episode they claim, "He's gotten us before", continuing there saga with the wolfman, and there determination to catch him when "The Wolf Is Out There"

- Stacey and The Wolf. In one episode, werewolf Tommy saves Stacey, starting a brief romance between the two. A later episode, She decides to get to know this wolf better, based off of the prior episode of the wolf saving her.

- Flugelhoff! You'll hear bits and pieces of Merton mentioning this man, up until he actually meets him. If memory serves correct, after that episode (in production order, not airdate) Merton soon dismisses him altogether.

Theres other continuity, such as character growth, but I don't feel too confident in getting into it all since I haven't watched this in a while. But from the top of my head, those main reasonings listed above I feel strong enough to show there was continuity present throughout the first season.

Whereas season 2 and 3, kind of fail off.

And yes, everyone. Season 1 had continuity

I'd argue there's a difference between (1) callbacks and fleshing out a 'world', and (2) elements of one episode not really making any sense if you haven't seen something that came earlier. When I say 'continuity', I mean your ability to enjoy and/or understand something depends on having seen something in the series that came before it. I don't think Big Wolf meets that definition, although maybe we're defining it in two different ways.

I don't think it's inaccurate to say that the eps in Big Wolf's first season are standalone, even if there are tiny bits of spillover. "Standalone" doesn't mean "static".

Found the same list at IMDb via the copyright/gov site and was gonna post it, but I see it's already here.

It took me a few years but I can finally watch the show in production order, the correct order. Yay!
